Call for Artists

The FJKluth Art Gallery is pleased to announce an open call for artists to participate in our next exhibition titled “Apparitions” which highlights transcendental experiences with otherworldly beings.

Apparitions are mental projections, ghosts, visions or spiritual messengers. In the United States, apparitions are most commonly thought of as ghosts and are often perceived as something frightening., however in Europe, the term “Apparitions” refers to the visitations of the saints, who often appeared to young women of middle-class or poor background. One example of this phenomenon was the visitation of Holy Mary to Bernadette at Lourdes. Mary told Bernadette that a spring of healing water would appear in the Grotto of Lourdes. When the spring appeared, thousands of pilgrims gathered to hear Bernadette describe her vision.

We welcome local artists to participate in our October 21st Apparitions show. Bring your work in or mail it to us. Contact for more information.

Submissions must be turned in by Wednesday, October 18th Depending on submission quantity and spacing availability, we can only accept a limited amount of artworks. Please frame your pieces or mount them appropriately for display.

FJKluth Art Gallery will receive a 25% commission on any artwork sold, with the artist receiving 75%. If a painting sells the artist will receive their commission in the form of a check made out to their legal name at the end of the exhibition when their unsold artwork is returned back to them.

The Apparitions opening is scheduled for October 21st.  Bring your pricing, artist’s statement and artist bio with you.

Apparitions will open Saturday, October 21st from 7 to 10 pm, 2023 at FJKluth Art Gallery located at 300 North Water Street, Suite I; Kent, OH 44240. The exhibition is free and open to the public.
