This 16 1/2 inch bronze plate contains an oleograph reproduction in the center featuring the famous 18th century portrait painting Pinkie by Thomas Lawrence. The painting is an elegant depiction of Sarah Moulton whose direct gaze and the loose, energetic brushwork give the portrait a lively immediacy. The real version of Pinkie is in the permanent collection of the Huntington Library at San Marino, California where it generally hangs opposite of The Blue Boy, by Thomas Gainsborough.
